the setup
17 days and work is great... there's been some really great turn outs but i won't write about it till i'm sure. as for acads, i can't say i'm having a blast. IT'S HELL WEEK AT SCHOOL! it's raining exams, whoopeedoo..
my most recent obsession is dvorak. i started a few days ago when i had nothing to do. i was surfing the net when i came across this article on dvorak saying that you can drastically improve your typing speed if you typed on a keyboard on dvorak layout. so i tried it out. it was pretty difficult adjusting. later in the night, i went home to my beat up old ibm and reset the keyboard layout. (it's in the keyboard settings of your control panel on windows). when i set it up, i typed up the layout on a little notepad window while typing "the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" on another, while talking to my boyfriend on the phone. he then gave me the brightest idea (or so i thought). he told me to reset the keyboard layout. physically. so there i was, prying out the little keys, beating up my already beaten up laptop (yes i'm accepting donors for a new one ^_^) and once i was almost halfway, i realized the problem. my laptop had a nipple right in the middle so the keys g, h and b had grooves in the corners it. so i left it in its place. so that kinda left me with 6 letters out of place. when i started typing again, i got confused by some of the letters so i took a marker and blacked the letters out. ^_^ then i realized i'm not used to typing while looking at the keyboard so i kept my eyes on the screen. then i realized my next problem which was not having the little grooves on the home keys! of course i was too tired to take my keyboard apart all over again so i went to bed. everyday i'm improving a lot though. i'll update you on my dvorak escapades next time.
